4. SMS/Text Messaging Program

This section applies specifically to our SMS/MMS text messaging program and is provided in compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA) guidelines, and 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) registration requirements.

4.1 Consent and Opt-In

By providing your mobile phone number and expressly consenting to receive text messages from IBEW Local 18, you agree to receive recurring SMS/MMS messages from us. These messages may include, but are not limited to, union meeting notices, event notifications, job referral updates, emergency alerts, legislative action alerts, and organizational news.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of membership or any other benefit provided by IBEW Local 18. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Please consult your wireless provider for details about your messaging plan.

4.2 No Sharing of Opt-In Consent or Mobile Data

We do not share, sell, lease, or rent your opt-in consent, mobile phone number, or any other mobile data with any third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. We do not share consumer opt-in consent with any third parties. Mobile data consent will not be shared with any third parties through this SMS channel.
Personally Identifiable Information collected through our SMS program will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.

4.3 Opt-Out

You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you send the message STOP, you will receive a single confirmation message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After that, you will no longer receive SMS messages from IBEW Local 18 unless you re-subscribe.

4.5 Carrier Disclaimer

Our SMS program is designed to work with major U.S. carriers. However, service availability may vary depending on your carrier and plan.

5. Email Communications

We may send email communications to individuals who have voluntarily provided their email address through our website, membership forms, or other contact methods. Our email communications comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and applicable federal and state regulations.
