Vacation Accrual Limits

VACATION ACCRUAL LIMITS

According to Section 4.254 of the Administrative Code, “…any employee may be permitted to accumulate vacations for not to exceed two (2) annual vacation periods, and all accumulated in excess of such amount shall be deemed waived and lost.”

It is your responsibility to know your maximum vacation allowance and to ensure you don’t lose your time.

*Employees are given lump sums of vacation at the completion of the following service years: 5 yrs. - 48 hours; 13 yrs. - 8 hours; 14 yrs. - 16 hours; 15 yrs. - 24 hours; 16 yrs. - 32 hours; 17 yrs. - 40 hours; 18 yrs. - 8 hours; 19 yrs. - 16 hours; 25 yrs. - 8 hours.
